What affects the cost

Guide prices, explained plainly

The price of a funeral will depend on many things including the choice of burial or cremation, the type of coffin required, religious or non-religious service, location of the funeral, the number of printed service sheets, the number of limousines needed (if any), etc. However, the following prices are given as a guide to approximate costs.

A Simple Cremation

For the sum of £1,595

Subject to the following terms and conditions:

Cremation fees are included in the above price.
There will be no attendance by mourners or service at the crematorium.
The family will not be notified of the date or time of the funeral nor the address of the crematorium. Viewing of the deceased will not be possible.
A cremation will not be booked until all necessary paperwork is in place.
Ashes will be returned within 14 days of the cremation taking place in a standard container with certification.
The coffin will be of simple design, fit for purpose.
The deceased will be collected between 09.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday, within a radius of 30 miles of our office. Other times and distances are subject to extra charge.
The deceased will proceed to the crematorium as collected except as required for health and safety purposes.

A Basic Funeral

From £3,485

This will include:

Collection of deceased from 08.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday, within a radius of 30 miles of our office
Provision of a standard coffin
All arrangements for a Church of England minister led service at West Berkshire crematorium at 08.30, 09.00 or 09.30 Monday to Thursday. Nominated ministers or officiants may be subject to extra charge.
Recorded music at the crematorium.

Standard Funeral at West Berkshire Crematorium

From £3,985

A full attended service at the crematorium, arranged around what matters to your family.

Standard Funeral Service and Burial in Village Churchyard

From £3,685

A church service followed by burial in a local village churchyard. Churchyard fees vary by parish.

Our Standardised Price List

The Competition and Markets Authority requires every funeral director to publish a standardised price list, set out the same way by every firm, so you can compare like with like. Ours is available to download below and is also displayed in our office at 37 Pound Street.
